Rear Disc Conversion
OK so i want to change my drums on ek civic to rear disc Im just wonderin how hard is it? Or is it better to do a 5 lud conversion what do you guys thinki that already did this?
its easy to change the rear disc. of course a little experience would make the whole process go by faster, so if u have a buddy whos done it get him to help you.

Not really, unless you get the whole ITR/CTR brake conversion.

If you just cut the clip off to get the old cables off, you're not going to be able to put the new ones on if the old bolt is still in place.

Who said anything about cutting the clips off? Don't let the name fool you (Diagonal Cutting Pliers), you can grab on to those clips and yank them right off very easily without damaging them. I've never had a problem getting the clips off.

Advantages: Better wheel selection.
Disadvantages: More money out of your pocket.
As far as better braking is concerned? Notta. The ITR 5-lug rotors are larger and to my knowledge so is the caliper, but nothing you would really notice over the GSR in normal braking conditions. If i had the money to upgrade brakes, I would just go with an aftermarket big brake setup.

5 lug looks cool, but if you buy one, its most likely a stolen part. They dont serve a real purpose on a DD, so just find a smashed EM1 and take the rear disk setup.
BTW, all civic/integra rear disks are all the same size. Not sure about CTR and ITR, but all others are definatly the same.

So you just yank them off the old brake line but leave them on the car and run the new e-brakle cables through there?

Correct, I did the swap last weekend and it was pretty easy.

No, why would it? Changing the MC/BB and steel braided brake lines would though.

I put the 2000 si rear disc on my 93 hatch and its seriously cake work
unbolt the whole arm i think it's like 4 bolts 17or 19mm on each side pull the clips off the lines and ebrake cable and thats it goes right back on no prob, if it doesn't look right with the si control arms use your stock ones, at least thats what i had to do to mine but yours should be the same so you should be ok.
litterally a 30-45 min install thats easy goin
all of the bseries rotors are the same size, which actually sucks cuz i can't fit my 13"rims anymore for slick cuz i changed the fronts out too, but i like the brakes over my turbo best swap i ever did

I am such an idiot. Don't ask me why, but I was thinking about the clips that hold the freaking flex-able break line to the hard break line. You know that flat retaining clip. I just changed the brake lines recently and for some reason was picturing this. Are you talking about the same kind of clip that routes the parking brake cable, only sits vertical instead of horizontal?

I was talking about the ones that hold the e-brake cables (not the rubber lines) to the chassis of the vehicle and then into the the car which connects to the hand brake. I know what little clips you're talking about, and believe it or not I used the other end of a hammer to take them off kind of like I was taking a nail out of wood, worked prefectly!

I didn't in both my EK's and they are both braking fine with no rear disc brake premature wear like some people say.

Yeah, I didn't change either and mine brakes fine. And I noticed a difference in braking power.
