A guy wants to sell me an 87 CRX with a 1.5 Carb and a 5-Speed for $300. It's wrecked in the front pretty bad. It need a new upper rad support, new rad, new bumper, head lights, and a couple other things. The thing is, is I want to convert my 89 Dx to a 5-speed from an auto. I am in the process of changing the D15B2 DPFI head to a D16A6 head and MPFI intake. But, I also have a junk yard around here that will give me a 5-speed out of a 92 CX Civic cheap. I want to pay around $200-250 for the tranny istelf with the full swap. What should I do? I could take out the tranny and sell the rest of the car for a couple hundred bucks and make my money back. It also has some really nice 16" 5 stars on it with some good BFG's on them. What do you guys think?

 

You won't be able to use that hatchs cable tranny, I would snag the 87 myself, well not really being I can't have another car in the stable

 

will the 87 even bolt up? does it go along with a D is a D for trannies too?

 

Actually it's as described: EW1 engine code 1488cc Non-CVCC Carb engine. If not these two, what other trannys will bolt up and work correctly and might be reasonably cheap?
