What happened to the ALL-MOTOR topics?
Maybe its just me, but when did the All-Motor forum turn in to the Tech/Misc forum just because you don't have boost or nitrous? It seems like there are a ton of general tech and newbie questions in here. If you have an intake, header, and exhaust and make 10 whp over stock that doesn't mean you have an All-Motor car. Its just a car with some bolt ons. Of course with all Honda-Tech forums people need to USE THE DAM SEARCH! I remember when the forum started there were many in depth and interesting threads that went beyond what intake, header, or cams to use. Now anything higher than a bolt on build gets posted in the Drag Racing forum because thats were all the threads were people have higher tech/thought discusions are. The "which insert_bolt_on_here for under $X should I get" threads in here are just as bad as the "fastest stock block gsr, with i/h/e, on a bald tires, slipping clutch, in a EG, and untuned" threads are in the Drag Racing forum. Half the time the difference in exhaust, header, or cams with what setup they have is going to make so little of a difference they would never be able to tell on the street anyway. Say the word quench height and 70% of the people in here wouldn't know what you're talking about. I'm not trying to bash on the forum. I just think there should be more inforcement to moving threads over to the Tech/Misc forum. This might get people to start better threads related to actual All-Motor topics. Its becoming a pain sorting through all the threads to find something more than a bolt on question or result (if its even that technical). Like I said, maybe its just me.

Bravo, to someone finally saying something. Everything in this forum lately has been what cams or header for my xxx motor. Something TECHnical would be nice.

everyone fell in love with the header conversation - that's part of the problem. Thought this topic in and of itself is somewhat ironic ;-).
Best way to solve the problem is to just start posting those more technical questions and so forth.
If nothing else, everyone needs to realize that at LEAST it's not the 92-00 civic forum, which I don't even bother stepping into anymore.
The only real solution aside from active community involvement isn't bitching, it's more and QUALIFIED moderators that are ACTIVE. It's a public forum, so naturally there are going to be those who are confused about what belongs here, and such, so there is a strong need for a very very powerful moderator staff in each forum... which honda-tech seems to be too large to realize that they need this.

Edit: Here is one reason why people are reluctant to post their engine builds that I will be happy to share with you. This is a forum dedicated to those of us who are willing to spend the time, energy, and resources required to produce these all-motor projects. And also for anyone else interested in learning and/or sharing their knowledge about all-motor projects.
It is NOT intended to be used as a venue for inconsiderate vendors to hijack peoples threads and generate posts whose sole purpose is to bash one of their competitors products, in an effort to further their own business agenda. These posts have absolutely nothing to do with developing anyone’s knowledge or understanding of all-motor projects/concepts.
If the moderators of this forum don't step up to the plate and take notice of this problem, people like myself will simply no longer post our all-motor projects. Those of us doing self-funded all-motor projects, which are not merely a marketing extension of some engine builder (and funded by them) are becoming an endangered species.

So what is worthy of the all motor forum? Sure the what cam, header should I use get a bit repetitive but what else are people suppose to post? Not everyone is building a multi thousand dollar motor with multiple dyno charts pictures of every step and detailed info. If that is what you want from the forum then we would have 4 or 5 threads going in the entire forum.

shhhhhh. you arent supposed to tell them about the drag racing forum
i think most of the knowledgable people got sick of it and just stopped posting or keep their knowledge to themselves.

Personally I don't object to the "what cam - what header" topics. I absolutely agree that every topic can't be an expensive motor project. These forums are meant for its members to have fun, share their experiences and ideas, and possibly learn a thing or two in the process. Not to further some vendor's personal business agenda at the expense of those creating the threads.

I wasn't reffering to you more to the original poster. I agree with what you're saying not everyone is going to have the ability to have dyno charts and detailed builds honda-tech is honda-tech becasue its somewere you can go and ask for some tips advice and tech from others, you shouln't have to worry is my build worthy enough of making a thread. I agree with the vendors though some threads do get quite out of hand, not cool.
