*edit* back to the topic. check the rear panel on the hatch, it likes to pop out of the clips sometimes, so just hit it back in.

Also check your rear speaker covers to see if they are loose

 

what is rattling? my hood developed a rattle a while back. i noticed that when my hood was shut i could slighty push it down, so i just loosened the hood latch mechanism, lowered it, then tightened it back up. i hope that made sense...

 

i dont have an "EK", but my "EG" hatch rattles like crazy, especially when i drive over a bump, and when i first start out driving. I know the little pin you are talking about on the "EKs", my friend has that problem, but that is not the same problem i have. anyone ever try putting some extra weatherstripping around the edges? Just wondering if that worked, i think i will give it a shot if it did. thanks!

my rear hatch developed a nice rattle, after i installed my tein's. also, the shocks which hold the hatch up also seemed to fail at the same time. my solution to stopping this rattle is to put some felt pads where the rubber stoppers on the hatch meet the body of the car. this gives it more feedback, so that there is less slop between the hatch. after i did this, i developed a nice rattle with my wing, which led me to over tighten it up, which caused me to overtighten and break off one of the pegs.

 

my del sol was rattling, my stock shocks were gone.

 

If you have a short shifter it can be that. The shifter clicks again the heat shield if you still have it. I am going to bend my heat shield so it doesn't hit making a clicking sound.

took my sheild off also but still rattles, got under the car the other day but i failed to fix it.

 

in my coupe, it's a factory defect where the speakers are, that tray needs a little dynamat. And rear strut towers have cured alot of rattles in the back.

I've been umm looking for a job.. and I didn't know aobut the boba meet till like 10pm that night. (it was at 8 right?) you should've had ryan call me... oh i fixed my hatchie...but saving up for and 03 EP Si hatch in the summer.

no short shifter, no rear speakers here. I will try the "felt cure" otherwise, i am going to try some weatherstripping around the endge of the hatch.
