Default 5 Speed Gears

I have a 1992 Honda Accord EX 85.000 miles. all of a sudden all the gears are almost impossible to shift and when you put the gear in reverse it makes a whistle like sound. As the car warms up it's not as difficult to shift but still a struggle.
Thanks for any help!

Be sure the clutch master isn't leaking fluid under the dash, check for action at the slave/clutch arm. Be sure that someone didn't put 80-90w oil in the trans.

Thanks for replies. Just got it checked and the brake fluid which is clutch fluid also, had a small leak has been repaired and all is well.
