vin number on single cam?
hey well my friend purchased a d16y8 single cam vtec motor, complete swap for 300. He just swapped in everything, and everything is fine, but he's worried that the motor isn't legit.
is ther any way to tell if a single cam motor is legit or not? vin number anywhere?
thanks.

below the dizzy there should be a plate that says D16Y8. and you should see a solenoid somewhere behind the dizzy, which would indicate VTEC. if all that is there, it would seem legit to me.

hahahahhahahahaha he is talking about a block number or vin number for the swap to make sure its legit(not stolen). you should find it where the tranny meets the block
