Main relay ?
Anybody know where the main relay is located on a 91 Accord? Intermittent starting during warm to hot days in the parking lot at work. I have to get that problem fixed but I cant find the stupid thing. I would appreciate a fine description of the location please.
Search is your friend on this question....
You'll have to go dash diving to find this jewel. grab up a 10mm deep socket and a medium exrtension on your handy dandy ratchet. Lay on your back in the drivers floor board with your head where you usually have your stinky feet.
The cruise control unit needs to be removed,[LX EX] it's mounted hanging at about a 45 degree angle, to the left of the steering column, get it unbolted, swing it out of the way. the main relay is mounted above that with one 10mm nut and the other hole of the bracket has a stud sticking thru it. You can only see the bottom of the relay, where the electrical connector is[8 wire I think] grey box, on the side of it it will read 'MITSUBA RZ 0088' You have the option of leaving the case bolted in and popping the guts out of the case with a small screwdriver.
When you have the guts out you want to look for bad solder joints at either end of the relay board. resolder them and pop it back in the car.
this link might help you some more.
