Default low end honda power

wondering what an affordable way to get low end power or throttle response in a D series non-vtec motor is. im in the process of a B series swap but want the D series to perform better until its done. right now it has intake, full exhaust(with no cat), iridium plugs, 8mm wires and thats pretty much it for power mods. can someone help me out with this or is there really no way?

So stop being a ******* idiot and modding it with eBay boltons. You put an intake and an exhaust on it with no cat - both of which move power away from the bottom-end. Goddamn I love morons with no grasp of physics and power production that buy a bunch of **** for their cars!

It's a 1.5/6L engine: you won't get any low-end jack ****. Period.

oh so youre pretty much saying that stock is better for low end power? you might wana go back and read your "how to make honda power" book again. oh and by the way its dc sports and apexi exhaust...nothing from ebay and the cat the i bought with that ****....yeah....it does better without it so hmmmm....i think i'll leave it off. i know hondas have very little torque(which is your low end power by the way) but i also know there are ways to increase it just like you would on a 6 or 8 cylinder car just in different ways.

Oh and don't waste the money if you have a B series sitting there. That or sell the B and boost the D.

I don't have to read a book on how to make power. I have a college education and I could teach physics at a university. If I didn't have understanding enough to make these statements, I wouldn't. Your stock intake and exhaust systems are designed to make the most of the minimal torque production by having the peak occur low in the RPM band and stay as flat as possible for as long as possible.

You open the exhaust and intake apertures and you gain peak power and midrange, but at the expense of low end and the general torque curve.

Obviously its going to be faster modded. You are proving our point. Where do you spend all your time when racing? In the upper RPM's.

why would you want to dump money into a motor your gonna swap out soon? thats plain stupidity. live with it til you get the bseries in there.

edit: stop making yourself look like an assbag.

You are so full of crap. He's saying the more you open it up without adding boost the less power you get on the low end. You need to grasp the concept of air velocity vs flow. Dont ask for advice if you think you know it all.
