best k24 block??
I'm going k24/k20 all motor and I'm just wondering what the best block would be for an all motor application. I'm using an a2 type s head if that matters in the decision.
Which block would be best for turbo? (if i change my mind and go fi)

If I recall correctly, Nikos said its best to use the TSX block. Maybe the Element block too I'm not postive. But I do remember him saying not to use the Accord block because it wouldn't work right with the head or something.

k20a2 head from a rsx type s
k20z3 head from 2006 Civic Si
k24a2 head from TSX
But the accord block will not clear this head with stock internals... there are clearance issues with the pistons and the cams.. so you need a CRV block or a tsx block. These are the only blocks that will work with a 'real" vtec head.
Sure you can swap the accord motor and get it to around 200whp with cams made specifically for this motor, but it is not going to be easy. These motors have a factory 7200-7600 redline and the stock rods are weak.
Most people that swap the k24a accord/crv/element motors, do it for their car to be running while they are working on their primary motor.
Even if he gives you the longblock for free, you are going to need around $5000 to get it done right and that is with you doing the labor.
I have a k24a2 EG. The other day, I made a list of what I could potential make if I parted out each single piece of the motor and swap... came out to $8000... and it is using stock OEM parts.</TD></TR></TABLE>

It really doesn't matter which K24 block if you're going to build it. If you just want to slap them together and run, the TSX (K24a2) would be best for NA, and the CRV would be best for FI (low compression). As for the Element and Accord block go, you have to change the pistons to make them work. Hope this help.
the a4 accord block doesn't have oil squirters.....the tsx block does have oil squirters.......they both have 99mm cranks but there not the same.....the difference
between cranks is similar to the differences from a GSR & ITR cranks...same stroke just different amount of material on the counterweight.....accord is lighter with less counterweight like a GSR....and TSX is similar to the ITR design
