Default Magnaflow Muffler Question

Alright, I'm about to buy a magnaflow satin stainless muffler for my exhaust project and I was wondering...which size would best suit my hatch? 14" or 18" in length? I'm planning to go full 2.5" catback.

Also, I'm going SOHC turbo so should I go with a center in/center out design or staggered in/out design?

Any other insight would be greatly appreciated, and thanks in advance!

the bigger the better
the smaller it is the louder it is
get the bigest one that will fit

make sure you get the straight thru. The staggered one is a multi-chamber muffler, which isn't good for boost.

this is the only muffler I have on my camaro, rest is 3" piping, sounds like the world is spinning backwards at WOT.

fabbing something like that up on a honda will net same results, it's quite tame around town.

No it won't sound like an LS1 though

I'll definitely go straight thru design (center in/center out), and apparently the only size they make it in is 14" so I'll go with that.

THanks guys .

Actually, does anyone know the size (dimensions) of this magnaflow muffler/type (staggered/centered/both)?

Thanks in advance!

This one is the triple chamber muffler, nothing to fancy. I am running stock b16a e.mani, gs-r flange, 24" reso, 2.5" all the way, classic ef bend, 3xchamber magnaflow, 2.5 slanted tip. This car purrs at idle, and isn't ricey all the way through the powerband. Magnaflow and the right reso will give you the sound and performance you're looking for. (insert cheesy product placement) but like stated above the boost, go straight through. My setup just happens to work for me, holds backpressure and is all i need, boost listen to the above comments.
And the pic above the dimensions, i think it's just the magnaflow oval es series.

How long is your muffler from end to end? I'm not only going for sound/performance but given the minimal price differences of the magnaflow mufflers I'd like something that fills the rear of the car.

Thanks!

i believe the tip itself is around 1ft. maybe 10-11" and 2.5"diameter but as far as filling out the rear, don't go bigger in diameter. Just ***** up your backpressure and it sounds god awful. I know you weren't about sound or performance but trust me, more respect if you make it look and sound great. As far as filling the rear, go with the oval tip. just not too flat but it takes the space from the side without causing the fart can look. I think a tip with a major axis length of about 3.5" will do you good. The major axis is the center line of an elipse. so measure the longest width from tip to tip and don't go over 3.5" it looks like a pancake unless you increase the diameter of the piping. eww
good luck and take pics of your final choice
