Default Rusty Oil Pickup...

I Just bought this motor from a guy who didn't have time to finish it, and ended up selling his car... It's an LS bottom End w/ 12:1 JE pistons tapped for LS/VTEC, other than that I don't know anything else about it. He said its "fully Built" but since it was all motor, I'm assuming there is stock rods... I took it apart this morning to see if I could figure out what is all exactly in it. I got a shock when I took the baffle off and saw this...

What do I do? He said it is a fresh rebuild and it was done buy a professional motor builder, and that there had never been any oil ran through since the rebuild. He had it store w/o a head on it upside down on a piece of carboard with no oil drain plug in it for almost a year, and never touched it.

FYI, I got this in a deal for really cheap. this block, ITR head BRAND NEW from honda never put on block, cams were sold for GSR cams cuz he needed money tho(sigh), Clutchmasters 6 puck, lightened flywheel, and an LS cable tranny for 1500 bucks.

I'd replace it. If there wasnt any oil in the system since it was rebuilt then that makes sense that it was all rusty.

Yeah, I think the machine shop sent it to him w/o any of the oil pan/baffle/pickup on it. an they preoiled everything... he didn't and thats why it rusted.
