I think so. Especially after finishing a rebuilt motor. There's a shitload of metal shards in there

Actually we DONT carry them at autozone. I work there. We have a few, mostly for V6 fords and chevys though.

For a Honda, youll need a drain plug sized M14-1.25, which autozone does NOT carry in magnetic, at least not in north texas. But the stocking items tend to be the same everywhere, so i doubt the autozone near you has one. not to rain on your parade or anything.

to the OP, just make sure you get a sized 14 drainplug with a pitch of 1.25 for the threads, and you should be fine.

you have one of benses trannys? I bet the gearing is sick.

but seriously to stay on topic, the oil filter wont catch all the metal shavings. most of them just keep circulating

LOL if you think the Honda engine is only aluminum I guess you have never seen the inside. What do you think the valves, crank, rods, bearings, rings, pan, cam, springs and sleeves are made of???? Oh yea they are Steel.

Basically every part that touches another moving part is made out of steel. That is where your shavings are coming from. Yes the filter removes alot of the shavings but do you take apart your filter after every oil change, probably not. The magnetic plug is a good indicator of what is happening inside of your engine.
