NEW CRV's here!
Hey guys just wanted to let everyone know we have the new CRV's on our lot.
They look pretty good in person and the changes are all for the better --- my personal fav is the front fender flares, nice touch
Check out your local dealer to get a look at one for yourself

I hate them with a passion. The best part of them is what's under the hood.
Honda seemingly has marketed them to an older generation.

I am with you on the grill but overall I think this CRV is head and shoulders above the old one
As far as the older generation ---- in my market (Palm Desert/Palm Springs) the majority of buyers are older and retired folks who want a comfortable city vehicle that gets decent gas mileage and is easy to get in and out of.....the CRV fits the bill for them
The 06 Rav4 was so good that Honda had to do something and I think the new CRV is a much better contender than the outgoing platform ----- since they are based on the civic platform you can see how the larger chassis has helped the CRV grow up a little into a more comfortable vehicle.
Drove one and I was impressed to see the differences. I drive alot of cars everyday and some of the styling points arent my cup of tea but as a vehicle I think its a pretty good deal IMO anyway

When I was looking at getting an '06 CRV I found out that the '07 was being revamped and decided to wait. I really like what they did with the '07 and it's not much more cash.

I don't understand you people that like it.
The inside is nice sure. But the body is hideous. I mean the side windows make it look like a lexus, the back a buick, and the front a 92-95 civic + a 06 pilot. Even the wheels are extremely generic.
IMO my 99 just got a lot more valuable.

I was thinking more of a lexus/volvo type thing when the delivery truck pulled up to the dealership to drop them off

I'm with this guy.
Strangely enough, if I could justify it, I would have a Ridgeline. Then me and DaiJekBok would have damn near the same cars. Coincidence?
Anyway, I think the CR-Vs are nice and the front end only looks weird from certain angles. I love the sweeping rear windows but I wish the tail lights didn't go up so high. Everyone I talk to say the taillights make it look like a mini-van.

I went to the auto show yesterday and it confirmed to me that the CR-V looks better in person. I really didn't like the nose when I saw the pics, but it's growing on me. I was disappointed at how bad the front of the MDX looks. I really liked it in pictures but that grill, in person, is awful.
The interiors on both are home runs IMO: The CR-V has definitely moved up (I sat in an EX-L) and the MDX is beautiful!

My wife had an '01 CRV that we really liked. We only disposed of it because of the lack of power in the 4 cylinder. By comparison, I think the new CRV looks more refined and is definitely an improvement from a cosmetic standpoint. Sure they pulled from other makers, but that's what happens in the automotive market and to act surprised by that is just naive.
we test drove it the other day. thing is so much nicer outside and inside compared to previous ones. the only thing that lacks refinement is the engine, this thing is so underpowered. they should have put a k24 in it or a v6.

it does have a k24 in there putting out 166hp/161tq. as for a v6...if honda put a v6 in the cr-v then the pilot will suffer in sales and honda doesnt want that (eg. r.i.p. of the rsx when the 2006 si came out). btw do you drive cars w/lots of hp/tq because I drive a 03 cr-v and I feel the power is sufficient so I don't think the new cr-v power worse than the previous gen.

bought an 07 crv ex-l last sat and so far im loving it. except on the way home from the dealer, the TPMS light came on. tire pressure monitoring system light, not sure why it came on but ill be going back to get it checked out.
got the color that is pictured in the first post up above.

we drove the pilot, thats it. in the pilot, it felt like we were riding up way too high and the ride was a little stiff. in the crv, we felt a little closer to the ground and the ride was smooth. we went from a lowered acura CL to a crv.... roomy, nice ride, plenty a cargo space and we got a good deal......
the new crv is great i think. it looks even better when u put running boards on it a fog light kit a spoiler. My dealership decked out like the first truckload of them. the first one to go on the show was fully loaded with navigation, running boards, roof rack, spoiler, fog light kit, and that thing sold in like three hours. everytime we get a truckload we sell them
