98 Accord, help on jack point
Hi,
I'm hoping this question can be cleared before I start doing DIY things.
OK, I need to lift my car to do things like oil change, tire rotation, and brake services. No brainer. Question is how do I lift it. Well, you use hydro jack to life it and then replace the jack with stand and do the other side. But don't you need a jack point long enough so that you can put stand besides the jack?
I had BMW 330 before and jack point is just enough for jack. Now with 98 Accord, it's a little longer, but still I can't put stand in. Finally, my wife's Audi's out of warranty soon and I decided to check on it and that's the only car I have successfully put stands underneath it.
Other than ramps, is there no way to make cars like BMW and Accord rest on stands?

well what i usually do is there is a jack point just past the side skirt of the accord, i usually put the jack there as far towards the rear as possible and the when it is high enough put the jack under the bottom of the knuckle, (looks like a round jack point) thats for the front of the car, for the back sometimes i jack up the whole back end in the center of the back and put the jacks on each side infront of the rear tires,
i could be wrong but i hope that helps!

put the lifting jack under the rear subframe, where it attachs to the body, then when the car is raised slip the jack stand under the "lift point" along the side of the body.
