Default I think I got a smokin deal!

Well I was really wanting a Ducati Monster or Triumph Speed Triple, but I got a great deal on an F4i I couldn't pass up. I loved my F4 and now I will more than likely be the owner of an F4i.

I came across a 2004 red/black F4i with only 960 miles on it for 5,500 dollars. So I went ahead and got it. I am still waiting on my insurance money, but I think this is too good a deal to pass up. Guess I am pulling money out of my ***. Am I right to jump on this? Or do I just fall in love to easy?

I rode my girlfriends F4i this weekend and it was alot smoother than my F4. So I think I will like the F4i better.

I will just ride this one for a season or 2 and then upgrade. I have only been riding for a year, so its probebly best to stay with the 600 anyway.

And I just bought a Shoei RF-1000, Joe Rocket Blaster Jacket, Sidi B2 boots, and some new gloves since all my **** was fucked in the accident.

This really has become a complete addiction!

That is cash! He wanted 6300, but I was like..."man I am giving you cash money...5500" and he finally agreed.

That was a great deal.

I am excited. As for the banana seat...blah I dont really care. Isnt it easy to do the conversion anyway? The red/black is just really sexy. I will post pics when I get them.

You could probably start collecting parts for a seat conversion and make it a winter project. You just need an 01-03 F4i sub-frame, tail, and seats, i think.

Nice deal.
I sold my 03 F4i with 12000 miles for $5800 this may.

Yeah the bike is in perfect shape too. It has not been dropped and everything is mint. Garrage kept. I am just really happy. I guess its not all said and done yet, but I am getting the money out of my accounts tomorrow and hopefully the seller gets a bill of sale and everyhting ready.

I didnt realize that I would need the subframe along with the tail. I will have to look for parts. It cant be that long of a project... It doesnt get cold enough to not to ride in georgia.

I think they have seat cowls that'll cover the passenger seat...not like it matters though, it'll still ride the same.

If you're not going to do a seat conversion, at least get the cowl. WTF was Honda thinking bringing back the banana seat?

2001 F4i - non-banana seat for the win!!!!

Congrats on the good deal. I got mine for 4200 with 8k on the clock.

I know an F4 is a better bike than an F2, but going from my F2 to the F4i was like a totally different riding experience. So much better in so many ways.

I did the same thing though man. Found a deal too good to pass up - didn't really want to spend that much money, but oh well.

Have fun!

I will probebly get the cowl, but thats about it.

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by ladius &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">are you gonna streetfighter it?</TD></TR></TABLE>

I don't know. I reeeeaalllyy want a streetfighter bike, but I would have to completley tear down the bike and get everythinng painted and do alot of mods to it to get what I want. So its not just feasable right now.

Picked up the bike today. It needs a new battery and a clutch cable adjustment but other than that this thing is MINT!

I will get some pics up here soon.

Anyone know what needs to be done to the exhaust to make and exhaust from and f4 to work? According to the companys websites they are different.

Once they introduced the 600RR, they made the F4i a little more comfy.

The old F4i seat was nice, but about as comfortable as the current RR's seat.

Nice boots, nice jacket, nice helmet and nice bike. But those gloves have got to go. I had those exact same ones...they felt like my mtn biking gloves. At least get some A* SP1's or better yet, GP's. Oh, and some pants, too.

HAHA yeah I already threw those gloves away. I wore them for about 2 minutes before I went back to my speedmasters. And I alreay have some Jo Rocket Alter Ego pants. That was just new stuff.

Offtopic but... mind expanding on what you just wrote?

I am currently an F2 owner.

Do you find it easier to handle? Smoother?

I rode my buddies SV650 around and was amazed at how much more nimble it felt. Going over 60mph on my F2 while cornering required a lot more muscle to counter-steer. Whereas the SV650 you just had to tap the handles at any speed for instant lean.

No problem. Much easier to handle going slow, a tad more stable going fast, much smoother in the turns, throttle response, acceleration, braking, etc. I haven't gotten too crazy on it as I'm waiting for a new rear tire. My current tire has a flat spot all the way around from pure highway mileage - and a lack of any tread in the center.

I feel much more confident on the F4i vs the F2 - but not too confident.
