Looking for d-series parts tranny in ohio
I am looking for a blown d-series transmission 96+. I need parts from the transmission so if you have one but not in ohio that you would be willing to part out, I will pay for the parts I need. Hit me up on PM and let me know what ya got. Thanks.
looking for the half of the case that covers the clutch and flywheel. I do not need any internals at all just half of a case. If you have a s40 trans laying around I would be willing to come pick it up.

This is confusing...but the little arm thing that moves the reverse gear up and down is held to the inside of the case by two bolts... I broke one of those bolts off inside the hole so I tried to drill it out and now the hole is all screwed up. Thinking about filling with metal filler and re-tapping but I don't know yet.

I didn't even read the torque specs I just started tightening with ratchet and snap...? I'll try and get some pics soon but the transmission is in my brothers garage. Have you ever had experience with perma-tech's metal filler?? It says on the container that it hardens like metal and can be retapped.
blackstar... did you get my pm?? I am still interested but I may be able to get one for free from a guy at work so I am going to find out from him tomorrow and then I'll hit you up.

there is no force on the ONE bolt, hell likely the other would hold it, just need the second bolt to locate the reverse setup.
I've used the permafill, but that was 20 years ago when it first came out...........
My redneck fix..........get the old bolt out.....slap in a new bolt using JB weld and use the good bolt to locate everything. I've used JB Weld to hold in a engine mount bolt thatw as stripped on a B16.........I don't sugesst it thoug!

well, I have the old bolt out already and tried to drill it out to retap and thats when everything got messed up. So you think I should just put the good bolt in the good hole and line it up and jb weld the other hole??
clean the hole out, mix your JB weld, then 1/3 fill the hole (depending on how bad you messed it up!) installed the reverse fork with both bolts and let sit. MAke sure you keep the fubared bolt hole centered.
You only have one shot, make sure EVERYTHING else is right because I doubt your goona be able to remove the shafts.
