Default GSR input shaft and Bellhousing!

I had a ITR lsd put in my gsr tranny. I remember the input shaft sticking out past the bell housing about an inch, we had to put it on 2 wood blocks to protect it and I have seen others do that too. When I got the tranny back the input shaft sits flush with the bell housing? Does yours?

Can't remember. Does the transmission spin freely by hand in all gears?

no the input shaft is never flush with the bell housing, thats why you use the wood so the weight isnt riding on the input shaft and bearing

Well the first thing is they dont do anything to the mainshaft of the tranny except for remove it and put it back in when you install the LSD. With the bearing on the top there would be no way for it to be too far in the case. The only thing I could think of is they left the top bearing off the mainshaft when they reassembled. Even then everything wuld be so far off I am not sure they could even get it back together like that?

Sorry to be off topic, but what kind of bearings did you use for your ITR diff? I am trying to put a itr diff in a gsr tranny and it doesn`t even fit.

No one replied to my post, must be my postcount isn`t high enough to be considered around here.
