new keys
there may already be a topic for this but i searched and went through the faq's and couldnt find anything on it. i have a 2000 base model and i lost the key and keyless entry thing this past weekend and i dont have the little red learner's key anymore. i called a honda dealership in va beach and they said it would cost $301+service and labor because i had to order some stupid kit from honda. i was wondering if theres a cheaper alternative cuz that 300+ was supposed to go towards a cai and other goodies. lemme know whats up.

i used to be a locksmith and you have to either go to a locksith or the dealer to get a new ecu with a red key programmed to it. Then you can get the new keys programmed to you car. We used to do it with two keys and the red key for 300.00.
we went through a guy in jersey that flashed the ecu and programmed a red key and sent 1 regular key with it. I dont know what the price will be where you are but your looking at at least 300.00
yea ive checked all over and everyone says the same price for the kit. $301 and change. the labor doesnt really vary that much so im just gunna take it in the *** and have hall honda in va beach do it for me.
