Where to find 1st gen CRX gas tank?
Like the title states...is there somewhere online that I could get a (used) gas tank from for an '85 CRX? It's developed some pretty bad leaks recently, and I can't find one locally.
Thanks
Thanks
Dont be cheap go to autozone or advanced auto parts. A used one could have crap in it or be just as rusted on the inside as yours. I think i paid 50$ for mine.
I just checked the Autozone website...they don't appear to carry a gas tank for the first gen. There is no Advanced Auto Parts store around here. I didn't even know stores like that carried gas tanks (esp for such an old car).

Almost any parts store can get one if you go in there and ask...If they don't have them in stock, they can definitly order one. Don't be lazy, Honda-tech can't do the running around for you.

I didn't ask Honda-tech to do the running around for me. I'm asking Honda-tech if they have done the "running around" in the past for themselves, and if they have, to please post their experience. Let's not forget about why this board is here...

Go to
http://www.pullapart.com/
they have a locator service (there is a 1st gen dx in a few places)
If you cant find what you want they will send you a notice when it comes in.
Pull the tank(not that hard as you know) look inside and see how clean.
should be pretty cheap, they dint rip on their parts

I had to replace my fuel tank and I ddnt go to the website I went to the parts store and inquired for a price...saved money...purchased. It was pretty straight forward. Unstrap old remove fuel pump, install new in reverse order.
