hi i tried searching this but have not found any results
i drive a 96 civic lx but its throwing a code of P0420(catalyst system efficiency below threshold i was wondering if this will affect my car passing smog

Also: If i get a header and cat from the EX does that bolt up correctly and does it help me pass smog

 

it will affect smog. and as far as i know, any d series cat should bolt up. I just threw my friends stock CX cat on my car, and its an EX. it was the same diameter in and out as the old one.

 

well i guess i phrased it wrong the LX is the header/cat combined together while the ex is separate i was asking if i get the the header and cat from the ex would they still pass smog

i see no reason why it shouldnt. as long as the cat you are replacing it with is good
