looking into buying used 91 crx. need input
sup, im new to hondas and was looking into buying a 91 crx with a b16a1 engine and was wandering what the average lifetime is one this engine. also what are some of the first things to upgrade on it. it already has a full exhaust system (headers, muffler, etc) and a cold air intake.
I know for stock engines... some guys keep em running for around 300,000 miles. im not sure about the b16 specifically though..

b16 is just like any other honda motor,,maintain it and dont dog it all the time it will last 200,000+ miles easily,,

you can do intake manifold, cams, valvetrain, chipped ecu, amybe turbo, pistons, rods, but now you're bringing down the lifetime of the motor...

Something else to consider is the condition it's currently in. You really have no idea what care the current owner, previous owner, etc. took. You'll find out though, that engines for these cars are fairly easy to come by and fairly cheap.
