Default what would cause no psi on my new fuel pressure regulaor?

i just got my car started and i have fuel to the motor obvious bc it starts up but my fuel pressure regulator shows 0psi. i was wondering what would make this do that? also if i put my stock fuel pressure regulator on if it would still run fine with a d16y7 motor and a z6 intake manifold swap and a HOME MADE TURBO SETUP? also if i keep the aftermarket fuel pressure regulator on if i take the return line off and put a cup their and see if their any fuel pushing out the back to the return line for the fuel tank. if someone cna please just give me some info on this i would be happy. thanks.

Could be clogged fuel pump filter, bad fuel pump, or fuel filter in the engine bay.

If your fpr is a B&M, and you forgot to install the spring from the stock one when you put it together, you will have no fuel pressure......good luck
