4g63 swp
well i was searchin around an i noticed it was cheaper to build a 4g63 than a D,B series with more power so i figured y not put a 4g63 in. got a questions before i start. is there a motor mount set out there for this kind of swap cause i was gonna make them. i think itll be a good project most the parts im gettin are free. i know i wont have the best traction but ill work that out when the time comes. feedback welcome
ya i know honda motors are the strongest without breakin down. its one of those things if u got the stuff already y not do it. plus i havent seen many done. but has it bin done in a crx? if so then i dont have to worry about clearance issues. of course it goin turbo i dont know witch one probly 16g for now.

dang that thing actualy runs. i know ill do a better job than that and better welding. i dont mean to bust on him but i would have took more time. plus my motor is going to be built an those mounts probly wont hold.
All the time and money to buy an 4G63, the parts to make it really fast, the time and effort to put it in
=
B16 + some other parts. You can B16 your car and turbo it on a mild tune for under 3000$ if you do it all yourself with some good deals that kick around. I've learned that if you have the money, you can wait for the deals to get good then you buy stuff, if you buy as soon as you get the money, the deal might be sweeter afterwards.
I've seen 400whp B16 that had NOTHING replaced internally except the pistons and te connecting rods, no sleeve guards.

im just doing it because i dont see them that offten and get the best of both worlds. for a lil over $2000 i can build a 4g63t stroker. im pickin the motor up for probly $100 with tranny in runing condition PLUS the guy is giving me another car. so would u pass that deal up? if u say yes ur just retarded
talon/eclips/lazer 4g motors are **** but their only **** if you get one used and dont rebuild it becuase they came out of a fast sports car that was beat this **** out of all its life!. i owned a 92 talon and put almost all my life saving into it and it still broke down and ended up selling it and buying back my old car. i personally love the looks of the car but will never own one again unless im rich. but it was nice to own a fast car for the couple weeks it was working when i had it for about a month or two.
Honda+turbo=death
People below there engine dften on high boost, just because of a singple lame act,
While on 4G boosting till 25 psi is no problem,
Yes,, oNe have to care more for a FI engine,

I wouldn't say the 4G63 is garbage. The reason why most engines pop, is simply because the drivers (Americans in general) can't drive a tuned engine. You're unlikely to pop an original engine, and that does have 300 bhp, don't forget that. Which year are you looking into? The 4G63 has been around for 20 years, and was introduced in the Starion back in the 80s. Later, it made it's US debut in the DSMs, making a name for itself.
In the Evo I, it made 230 bhp, while in the Evo IX, it makes closer to 290 usable bhp. The newer engines responds to mods fairly easily, I would say. How does 400 bhp on stock turbo and internals sound, only with de-cat, filter and other bolt-ons? Cams are not out yet for the IX I think, not everybody makes them at least (because of the MIVEC, more or less same thing as VTEC).
If you have a 4G63 from the Evo VIII, modding is a simple task. There are camshafts, cam gears and gaskets applicable for under a $1k together. For turbos, the GT3037S isn't bad, combine that with a larger intercooler, and you've got yourself closer to 5-600 bhp.
Buschur Racing makes some fine kits for the 4G63, so does AMS. For cams, I would say 272/272 is a good option, as it's a nice combination between calm idle and good performance.
Oh, and there are bad words about the gearboxes as well, but the same thing here, it's (mostly) American teenagers just learnt the stick who are to blame. There was a thread on EvoM concerning a stock Evo that had done 93.000 miles in two years, so the reability isn't a problem.
The 4G63 is 2.0 litres, while the legendary B16s and D18s only are 1.6 and 1.8. Size doesn't matter a lot, but it sure helps on reability and power.
And another thing.. Why go through all the fuzz and problems turbokitting a B or a D-series if you've got a 4G63 that's been tested throughout for problems concerning the turbo.
Hope my small pointers help a bit.

AHHHHHHHHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH^ If an engines tuned right it shouldn't have any thing to do with the driver, show my a 4g with 300 HP at the wheels stock (laugh),4G's never came in conquests in the States they where the 54b, they make a better power curve with out cams up till about 500hp, and displacement has nothgn to do with reliability.

dang take it easy u two lol i was gonna go with the 6 bolt with the HKS cams an other goodies but as for now i just got to make the motor mounts to fit an i dont have time while im at school. till them im just gonna fab up some mounts by guessing to try out an go from there. im gonna try like the other guy did with squar tube an then build better mounts. i still got to figure out a hydro to cable convertion for the clutch. if u got ideas let me know i got a plain but i havent made it yet i might mock one up tonight
