Audio outputs on factory stereo?
Can someone tell me if u can hook up a sub and amp to the factory honda stereo. I have a friend with a 7th gen ex and he wants to keep the factory stereo for the cleanliness factory any suggestions? i told he probably not but i don't know 7th gens to well! thanks
ive seen people just splice the stock speaker wires with rca outputs and run them to the amp Ive never done that so I dont no how that would sound though being high output and all
Go to JL Audio's web site and check out the "Clean Sweep", an oustanding product if you intend to upgrade later.
If it is just bass your friend is looking for, then just get an amp with "Line Level Inputs", but it will not sound very clean!
P.S. Its not a good idea to splice head unit speaker outputs to RCA's, you can do damage to the amp/head, not to mention the ungodly noise that could generate.
