Default Weight reduction part 1

The rear glass on my hatchback is super heavy.
First step was to remove the heavy glass and the rear wiper motor and evrything else that was not welded.

Then it was time for the plexiglass...

I don't know how much weight I lost, I do know my rear tire to chasis clearance went up 1/2 inch...

the car is starting to come together, I am currently working on the fuel (probobly go with a custom fuel cell.) I just ordered the fuel pump today as well as 1/2 fuel line (Nice and big)
My solid aluminum motor mounts are being made (should be done in about a week.)

Hopefully if things go right, the car will be ready by the end of July.
(Still tons of work and money to go...)

to remove the class, did you just heat the glue then push it out? we are going to be doing lexan on my friends drag car, and need ideas on how to remove the back window.

My friend and I started cutting it out with a cutting bit, everything was fine until we started to take the plastic retainers off---then poof, the whole thing shattered. Sucked for clean-up..

and solid aluminum, damn dude i guess solid polyurethane is too soft huh?

awesome stuff

what fuel pump are you using and are you going to be using aluminum hardline and stainless braid, hardline running between filter and to stainless in the rear, the stainless going to the pump? This is what i plan to do sometime in the near future, damn stock plumbing is absolutelly unnacceptable those tine banjo fittings dont flow at all.

GOOD job dude keep us posted

Yes all the sound deadn'ing stuff is going, the rear 5mph bumper is going (car is basically going to be driven once a week.)

I bought an aeromotive fuel pump, and I am using 1/2" hard aluminum fuel line.

Weight (hehe) till I start pulling stuff from under the dash..... The doors are going to be trimed a bit (switch everything from power windows to the manual roll up. The retractable seat belt in the door is a heavy thing as well, a seatbelt harness will take care of all that weight.... The seatbelt will bolt up to the heavy cage that I am going to end up putting in it (all that weight reduction, and I am going to end up sticking it back in with a cage---You can never win..

What are the ultimate plans for the future of the Ultimate 3rd gen? You cant be doing all that just to look at it 6 days a week and drive it 1. Are you taking it to the track or what?

eventually when you go so far you come to a point (depending on where you live) that you cant really drive the car around that frequently eventhough you have no tizzite appearance, b/c :

1) too loud
2) you 'enjoy' driving it
3) your POS neighbors report yu0 to the police, because they think your a menace to order and civility
4) large flames between shifts
5) people start putting two and two together when they witness a few kills of things that make normal people restructure their perception of the way of things

1) *cough* Corey Jacobs *cough*
2) I'd rather enjoy driving my car than look at all the 'tezza-phat-tizzite bling bling Civics and Integras around my house and school.
3) **** my neighbors. They're lucky I dont burn their house down for all the trouble they cause me. (I now know every cop in the 61st precinct by first name)
4) *Drooool* It would be like I'm driving a top fuel dragster. I'll be the envey of every Civic owner on my block.
5) **** other people y0! They dont like me, I dont like them.
