small metal rattle sound? hmm
well , checked the exhaust covers, because it sounds like something is vibrating or bouncing around, kinda like a tick metal rattle sound, almost like something is in oil pan or inside near flywheel, but coming from bottom of engine, nada sure what it is, the sound does not get faster when reving engine, nor do i have a loss of power, almost think something chipped apart and is bouncing around, im just wondering if anyone has ran into this problem before...
Throwout bearing? Is there a time when it goes away? Cat could be going?
Put a long screwdriver tip to the spots you think it is coming from then put the handle of the screwdriver in your ear. The sound will travel down the screwdriver to your ear. A cheap stethoscope. Good luck

shouldn't be throwout bearing, because function is still there with no difference, and all outter metal covers, shields are good'n'tight, i'm thinking either sml piece of bearing is around inside, or chipp off flywheel or chip off starter gear, something sml and from under car i know it comes from right inside between tranny and engine joining, think i might just buy new clutch, bearing etc. and just crack it all open and replace stuff, and while im in there see what the hell was bouncing , oh well hehee
i run into off the wall stuf with machinery, think im cursed anyways thx for response man,
laters'

when i once heard a small metal rattling sound near the engine bay it turned out to be a piece of the piston ring broke off and was bouncing around in the cyl.. then later resulting in fully cracked piston.
