suspension help
I had allready posted this in the suspension forum and no one had anything to say
Ok I have a 1993 honda prelude VTEC. I got some Falcon torque 5's for it about 1 year ago, and recently I got tired of it looking like a freakin truck. Sooo I went to my local speed shop and bought some Skunk 2 springs AKA the sleeves/springs. So my grandfather and I decided to install them last week. We went to autozone and got two new rear shocks that he guy said were a good choice for a lowered car with a higher springrate. I dont have the money for Koni's or KBY AGX's or anything. We got them on and it looked pretty cool/safe height. I had about 1 1/2 in of clearance from the fender to the top of the tire. I took it for a spin and it sucked. Every little bump in the road made it skip and hop all over the place while at the same time it felt like a knife was being shoved into my spine. I hit my head on the roof and wasnt really enjoying the ride and it felt like ****. I took it back to the garage and it got lower! wtf? I dont get it...the locking rings on the sleeves didnt move, and the towers dont look damaged. I feel stupid because my grandpa is on of those older guys who hates lowered cars and told me that the ride was going to be miserabe, but I mean come on. Something must have been installed incorrectly or else these things would not be selling right? Im used to driving my dads ranger which felt like a luxory car compaired to this. So I guess what my question is is this normal??? Oh, and Im sure it is quite obviouse but I know nothing about suspension so please dont make fun of me.

Agreed, Spend the money on some quality shocks especially for Skunks. When I first put my Skunks on it rode like ****. The I got some tokicos 5-ways made it ride a whole lot better. and Yes Skunks are stiff already.
thanks guy but I just took them out. It wasnt practical. I know that there are a million other threads like this right now but whats a good suspension set up around $400-500 for a DD? I dont need superior handeling or anything like that I just need something that rides ok on crappy PA rodes and lowers the car.
