i got a civic si 00...im starting to modify it...first thing i wanna do is lower it. I got a good deal on neuspeed race springs that lower 2.2/2.0 ....Is that a good drop with 17 inch rims??? what you guys think...i dont want it too low then again i really want a finger gap...i really dont want coilovers cause the name brands are juss to much....so yeah tell me wassup!!!do you guys prefer other kinda springs that will do the job??

 

I've got the race springs on my EX coupe w/ 16" wheels.

NO finger gap!!!
Occassional rubbing during hard cornering.

You are gonna need to replace your stock struts with something bettter to handle that drop. The stock ones will blow out quickly!

And get at least a rear camber kit. There's a nifty trick you can do with some washers. Try doing a search cuz' I know it's been brought up recently.

I wouldn't recommend 17's with that drop. Had a friend with a 98 EX with those same springs and 17x7 wheels and he experienced some bad rubbing. In fact, he had to hammer away at the inside of his front wheel well to get more turning clearance. I also have the Neupseeds on my 97 with 16" wheels and they rub a bit during hard turns.

I'd try something like 1-1.5" drop. Your stock shocks should handle that drop if they are in good shape.

 

no dont use the race springs, if you want to use neuspeed go with the sport springs
when i lowered my si last year i used eibach sport line an there nice the drop was like 1.6/1.8 i would reccomend those your stock shocks should be fine
