The head cracked on my 99 Accord V-6 with only 61,000 miles. It's never been overheated. I wanted to see if anyone else has experienced or heard of this problem?

 

how did you come to that conclusion? you have the head out and see a crack?

not without overheating........is there coolant going into a cylinder ?? car misfiring ?

did you do a leak down test ?

 

Yes, I have seen the crack. Leakdown test passed and there was no coolant leaking that I could see. There was a small amount of moisture but it appeared to be condensation. Cylinder number 4 started sucking in alot of oil and the engine was misfiring. We tried to just replace the valve seal but it didn't help. At this point I had the head pulled hoping it was just a bad guide. Once the valvetrain was removed you can see the crack in the head right next to the valve. If anyone would like to see pictures I would be happy to send them later in the week.
