Default h22 lma shim size is not right?

i am in the process of putting h22 spring type lmas into a b series head.
the problem is that i read the size difference is .040" but when i measured it myself with a micrometer it reads about .080" different. anyone would like to help me on this one?

you compared a GSR LMA to the 1999 prelude one and you came up with .080'?

Everyone says to use a .040" shim, im buying mine today.

yeah I was questioning this too. Im guessing peopel use the .040" washer that sits above the tapered bore in the LMA bore to bring it up to height.

But Earl says the .040" washer that fits in the bottom of the taper in the LMA bore is good to go. So either way I guess works! $1 for the stainless washers at home depot. They are #10 and come in a plastic package with almost 15 of them. Dont even cost $1 and yes they are stainless, they drop right into the bottom of the bore.
