Default Brake MC install?? Bench Bleed??

So my brake MC is dead, I was reading in my book, that I need to set the pushrod clearance with a special honda tool, vacuum gauge and a feeler tool.

Has anyone done this without al of this? Do I need to do this?

Also how do I bench bleed the unit? Do I need to?

Sit MC in a table vice, and make sure its level
fill the resivour half way up with fresh brake fluid for a sealed contaner,
using a blunt tool such as a 3/8 extention with a large socket push the MC piston in no more than 3/4 of a inch, untill piston gets stiff and will not push in more than an 1/8 in.

DO NOT push in more than an inch

How my explanation is clear

After you push it in, the piston will return on its own, then repeate a few times?
