Default Are all D-series alternators the same?

I am getting an alternator bracket to mount a D-series alt. on my H23 and was wondering if they are all the same, or is there different types. If one puts out more power than another I think I would need that one.... Different plugs or anything??

Thanks for any help.

I believe 88-95 have the same plug. And 96 and up are a different plug.

OK, thank you. Probably because of OBD2 starting in 96...
