Default Help! Aftermarket headlights

I have a 96 integra in need of headlights after hitting a deer. I see that e-bay has aftermarket halo/angel eye, headlights for around $150.00 a pr. about 1/2 of what 1 OEM would cost. Has anyone else purchased these lights, and be happy with them.

Havent bought those lights but if i were you id go with the 98+ bumper and lights. If you have to replace them why not look new.

go to passwordjdm.com, they have a pair of 94-97 OEM headlights for like $130 i believe. I bought a pair from them and they looked brand new.

i hear a lot that e-bay halos give out less light output. you'll be lucky if you get a good one. i wouldn't if i was you. not worth it at all.

yea just go to password jdm and try to get oem ones.

I got the black set for my g\f's teg and light output was about 10% less than OEM. She didnt mind though, she wanted the black housing. Then we did an HID retrofit and she was extremely happy.

I just bought the chrome set off ebay, cost a bit more. I dont see any difference in light output vs. OEM. I had to adjust them, but im happy. Until I can afford H.I.D.

i got a set off ebay. i didn't hook up the shitty halos though cuz i've seen those burn out real quick. the light output on mine is right on par with oem, i'd even say a little brighter but it could have just been the brand new bulbs. i did the 98-01 front bumper swap and they look good and fit perfect. looks way better than my 96 front end

i'm putting a milano red OEM 98-01 front bumper on ebay later this week. i ordered it from an online body shop and it came cracked( 1 straight vertical line in the center) so instead of picking it up they just sent another one. i was keeping it for a backup for the past 6 months but its time to get rid of it. if anyone is interested check ebay or email me. local pickup is preffered due to the fact that school takes up most of my week but shipping could be arranged.

I have a set of the 94-97 black housing halo's off ebay and the light output sucks. I put my OEM one's back in for now while a retro fit some hid projectors in. From the reply's here it sounds like a hit and miss with these lights.

Is it a true OEM bumper? Or a replica? Does it say "integra" under the headlight? I might be interested.

sorry to disapoint but its not oem honda. its from one of those online body shops. its abs plastic but it doesn't have the "integra" under the driver side headlights. thats the only thing that distinguishes it from stock bumpers. otherwise its fitment is nearly perfect. i wanted an OEM one too but the price for a stock one was little high. i just wanted a built motor instead so i settled on a cheaper bumper until i can get the loot for a jdm front. if anyone else is sick of there 94-97 front( its classic but the 98-01 hands down wins 9 out of 10 times) then i have a clean, slightly damaged, bumper for cheap.

The light output is horrible and is unsafe for drving on the freeway. This is due to the shitty cheap projectors and the black housing, whereas stock HLs have chrome housing. Do yourself a favor and get some OEM HLs.

I bought a set for my 92 teg. They are cheap, but effective enough. Don't expect quality out of them. I'll be replacing mine with some better quality 1 pcs soon as I'm not happy with them. You get what you pay for.

If you do get aftermarket headlights, make sure you put some clear RTV silicone coating around the edges, that way you don't get condensation in them. They tend to cheap out on weather proofing them.

Good Luck

aftermarket ebay headlights are a no-no. sure they look cool. but do a search, it's been covered more than a couple of times. the black housing provides crappy light output, very dangerous when driving at night. and they have had tremendous problems with fogging up. just go OEM, and if you want the black housing... crack those suckers open (not literally) and paint the housing black... then go HID.

look on classifieds for used OEM headlights.. they might cost you around $75-100 depending on the condition.
