My honda has manual Tranny how long is it reccomended to stay in each gear.

I beleive he is asking what is the revlimit for each gear, Jmumblez2001, we would need to know what type of accord you have and the motor and such..

I think it's more of a general manual transmission question.

I shift at ~ 2,500 to 3,500 rpms ('99 LX). I know that this is lower than what some people shift at. Oh well.

 

Sorry, i don't mean to be an *** but if you drive stick, you should be able to feel it. On most 4cyl, it will be around 3k, but honestly, if you can't figure it out, you need more time behind the wheel. Just shift where the next gear feels right.

 

Most manual drivers dont prefer going above 3,000RPM each shift during regular daily driving.

 

which is why they get better mileage

 

buddy i have been driving stick for a long while, and i can feel it when the engine is under load i was asking a simple ?, anyway my habit is to hold my gear @ 4 K rpm, then ****. mostly in 3rd gear
