Default rywire obd-0 to obd-1 goodies

Well I got my obd0 to 0bd1 conversion harness kit from rywire. As far as I can tell, this is going to be a complete plug and play deal as all of the wires from the ecu have their own shielded wire and connector going to their designated sensors and switches. I will find out if everything works out fine in about a month(when i finally finish rebuilding my z6) and hopefully everything will fly..
but again thanks Rywire..really nice product

looks good but I dont like how the conversion harness is all one color , I would have liked them in oem matching colors wire for wire, could make things simpler if something went wrong, as the often do

Wire colors don't say jack ****. I've found more than one wire not matching the manual over the years. Especially with my 98 B18 motor. That was drama.

It makes tracing them a little easier, admittedly.

I got that exactly same kit. They work like a charm. VERY easy to follow the instructions. But one thing I dont really like is how the dizzy conversion plugs make the wireing so much longer. Instead of the wiring comming straight from the stock wire loom to the dizzy with the conversion plugs it make wires and stuff stick out. Its hard to explain but it almost makes you want to just repin it to make it all look cleaner.

yes, i had a hacked up ecu harness and it was taped into 3 bundles, so it wouldve been easier if i could just match wire colors and dots ( when there were two green in the same plug, one green wire had gray dots, the other had red dots). But im just being lazy

Off topic, but impressive times for a d15b2

I'm looking into a z6 swap for my CRX right now too.

lol....thanks, everyone is a little surprised of my d15b2 with those times. ALso I put the d16a6 cam into it and thats the times I ran, However when i had the d15b2 cam in it and the timing was perfectly set, I "gteched" about 2 tenths faster than after. But the 15.8 1/4 mile on the gtech = 15.69 at the track.
SO the 15.65 on the gtech with the b2 cam = possible 15.40 at the track
and thats with the dx tranny, and 220 000 km on engine

but relating to rywire...with this conversion harness it seems like everyones worst obd0 to 0bd1 conversion nightmares are eliminated as there doesnt seem like ANY wires have to be cut or added from the ecu as the plug and play jumpers do all the work. THe only part of the conversion that you do have to is when going from the peak and hold to the saturated injectors(obd1 and dont require resistor box). But instructions are very clear on the website of rywire on how to go about this.

I agree But there's no other way to make an adapter for it. We made it long enough to be tucked under the distributor, out of the way.

Thanks for all the support!

so after you plug everything in what wireing do you have to do??
you still have to wire up the 4 wire o2 sensor and knock sensor right??
what else do you have to wire up? vtec wires?

nothing you just run the wires into the engine bay..all of those things that theobd0 motor doesnt have 4 wire o2 sensor vtec and i think for the guys with knock they do that too..my obd1 conversion took 25 minutes from the time i got it from the mail man to when the swap first ran, no problems everything works great

Thanks yall...

For the comment about factory colored wires. That could be nice to have this option, BUT for me to get custom striped wire its 55 dollars, and you have to order minimum 1,000 feet... How many wire colors are on the ecu stock?? 50-60?? Wow, talk about overhead. All these jumpers are tested 1-1 meaning each wire basically has a led light that turns on to make sure its correct. I dont have some monkey that blindly makes these harnesses, then midway through stops, scratches his head, and starts soldering again. LOL

On the dizzy jumper note... Ya, its tricky, I want to keep the length long enough for the jumper to be strong, but yes length plays a part, you can tuck under the intake mani, or copy the pinning order, and just use the grey plugs. Its really up to the user.

Thanks everyone!
Ryan

If you are worried about the length just depin your factory plugs and use the grey ones to plug it in

Exactly... When I do cars for people I hardly even use jumper harnesses most of the time...

mattie_96 have you tried hooking up your o2 sensor yet? I'm having a problem with mine! The engine harness I had customized at Rywire was great but I only have one problem. The colors on my o2 sensors are orange, white, yellow, and purple...I was curious of how you wired you o2 sensor? I bought a Bosch 95 civic 1.6 sensor and the colors are black, gray, white, and white. What colors did you put together? Just wanted to know because right now I have no heat because I just plugged them in!
