I'm completely stumped now! I have a 92 civic DX w/ a B18C SiR-G. I am running it with a obd1 chipped P28 from Phearable.net. Well, the problem is, is the motor doesnt have any power at all! Not only that, when it hit the VTEC range, it feels like I am hitting the rev limiter. I can sit still and dump the clutch and spin the tires a little, but it doesnt accelerate too fast, and like I said, there isnt any top end at all! I am using the stock Civic fuel line. Just changed the plugs. Motor came from HMotorsOnline.com with about 30k on it. Tried pulling the codes from the ECU and nothing flashes, yet the engine light is on. Anyone have any ideas at all to this problem??

yup. right above the ECU and the right side of the glove box. I turned the car off, jumped the two terminals, clicked it to on position....and nothing... I let it sit there for a minute to watch, and nothing happened. Last time I did it, it threw the codes immediately. So I am cluless...
did you change the dizzy, the timing belt and everything you know when you buy a motor from hmotorsonline there's a paper that comes with it stating you must change all the regular things on the motor
Starter, alternator, plugs/wires dizzy and timing belt possible a oil/water pump..
i learned this the hard way helping my friend swap in his jdm b16a into my old DA integra i sold him
we fought this motor for 2 weeks..called up steve at hmotors and he explained for the car to run to its full potental its suppose to have all that crap changed..it sounds like a timing issuse personally, maybe the intake or exhaust came is off a tooth or two, i dont think phearable would make a mistake like that..

I called steve, and he thinks its a bad ECU because since there isnt any codes thrown when I jump the termials, it means thats a Code 0, which is a bad ECU... I am confused about the dizzy too, thats a possible mistake since I am not 100% about the wiring since I didnt have a wiring diagram to match the JDM B18C exactly. So I used the diagram from Haynes, and went with that by matching everything by component instead of wire colors. I dont know if I stated this, but I have a OBD2 motor.

Checked the timing... Doesnt look to be it. The white mark on the crank pulley is aligned with the line on the crank cover. The two cam notches are lined up with the "up" obviously facing up. Tried swapping my wires around on the dizzy from another wiring diagram that i found, that didnt work. Said the the cylinder sensor and crank sensor were wrong. but appearently they were right the first time cause my car wont start now.
I replied to your email concerning the ecu possibly being bad :-)
I tested your ecu before mailing it out just like every ecu.
Are you throwing a MIL (check engine light) while the car is running ?
Then when you jump the srs connector the MIL is still solid ?
If so, the ecu may have been damaged in shipping (I doubt this is the case because I have never had one get damaged).

Its more possible for it to have been damaged coming here. I have shipped stuff out for ebay before, and I packed it pretty damn good, and somehow it managed to get busted in shipping. Thats why I hate to send stuff via USPS. I usually go through FedEX cause I never had problems with them. I wish I knew someone with a P72 I could hook up and see if it was the ECU or my car. The people up here are running around with half assed cob jobs. But thats a story for a rainy day. All in all, I think your a good guy, have nothing bad to say about you. If it did get broken, I dont put any blame on you. I checked up on you before shipping my ECU to you, and from what I could see, you are an excellent person to deal with. So I am just trying to figure this out. I replied to your email too. I would like to post everything on here too so if someone were to ever encounter this problem, they will have a "know how to fix it" source to turn to. I will keep it updated. I might just break down and bring it to the Honda dealership and have them figure it out. Dont want to, but might have too.

Shipping ECU back to you for inspection. Thanks for the help.
What is the procedure if it is messed up?

Can someone confirm this about my timing? The cams are lined up correctly, now is the white mark on the pulley suppose to be lined up to the mark on the cover, or is it suppose to be lined up with the red notch that has a notch on either side of it?
Brett,
I received your ecu today, installed it in a 95 gsr with an itr motor in it, started the car, drove it. Everything worked fine, no CELs or anything.
The problem you are having is mechanical/wiring, the ecu works flawlessly.
I will send it back out to you asap.
Thanks,
John Vega - Phearable.net

Well I got the ECU back. I looked over the wiring again real closely and found that there was a problem. I had two solid blue wires for the dizzy, comes to find out they were hooked up wrong. I swapped them out, and the car works good now. I had the crank position sensor hooked to the RPM wire. Oh well, ya learn from the mistakes. Yet, I am still having a problem with the top end. I dont have a tach, but seems about 4 or 5k the motor isnt getting fuel or something. It gradually starts cutting out. In 3rd gear, I pretty much top out at 60. Low end power is good though. I put up a post about this already on here. Hopefully someone will offer me the solution to this problem. Thanks to all who helped out! Expecially John Vega! He has been helping through here and email.

Not too sure what these 2 look like? If this is even relevant anymore? If you still wanna know, describe them a little or send pics. I'm not even using the stock intake anyways. Using a short ram. unless your referring to the IM...
