Recaros...good buy?
Okay guys recently bought these from a guy for $700 bucks, both seats. He said it's a set of CTR recaros but just wanted to find out what is it really is, it's used-he had it on for two months. The guy seemed cool had a blue 99 si sponsor and all by mugen and had a new set of recaros (blue, custom made)so yeah and was selling the seats for $800 so I said cash $700 and here it is. But anyways just want to know if what I bought was a good deal or not and are they CTR seats or what is it? I take it it's real recaros, or at least hope so even got the box. Thanks if anyone can answer my question.

The look real, also they look like Recaro Speed/SRD which is what the type Rs had in them.
However, the Civic type R and Integra type R did not have recaros in that colour.

they are recaro speed/srd. Definitely not from a civic type r (like already mentioned the ek9 didnt have patterned seats) or any other honda I am aware of. The dc2 itr had srd's as well, but same deal as the ek9 seats. The accord euro r and the ep3/dc5r have recaro sports.
At first I thought it was from an e30 m3 sport evo, but they have different patterns:
these are from a jdm evoII GSR, about as close as I can figure to what you have. SRD is a popular seat for performance cars over the years. The m3 sport evo came out with them in '89

Well all I know is he told me he bought it "new" and that it came from a CTR which is what they have in Japan. I know what the ITR looks like black w/ red sticking and of course the all red ones. But just trying to find out what these seats really are.

Well I bought it from the guy, went to his place even saw his blue Si. Heck I even sat in his Si just to see how the seats were. Only his was custom made, blue Recaros must cost a fortune? to if personal bought. But yeah all I saw was MUgen here Mugen there and the dash was just like MUGEN pretty sweet ride.

Yeaup need some rails/sliders but guy was cool enough to give me a place to order it from for no more than $90 where he got his. OH YEAH his rims was sweet as hell too had on the volk t37 is is? dont take this in the wrong way but....you seem like you are one of those dudes who buys **** without really knowing what the hell he bought. my advice before buying **** is to research first, buy second. my fiances brother is exactly like this, he buys **** without asking me all the time. the kind of **** i hear these sellers telling him is rediculous. so far hes ended up with fake JDM moldings, a fake bride seat, and fake jdm eg corners, and i think some other **** too. he tells me what they are, i look a little closer and tell his its fake. he argues, blah, blah blah. and im not saying this **** is fake, but by the way you talk it sounds like you could get into some issues with buying fake parts. take my advice as you may, ive just seen it happen too much.

cool I guess....nawh I didn't take it any other way becasue for me I actually check if it's fake or not before I buy just like my vision(spell) corners... but in the case of Recaros I wouldn't know if it's fake or not...But only thing I got was going to the guys place and seeing that he has what he has which to me is no bull **** if he told me what he said and the ride is sponored buy mugen and so forth so why wouldn't the seats be real is what I thought. But I know what you mean. But yeahdon't know maybe you've seen too many.

oh yeah...even if it was fake, which I don't think so...for $700 I myself don't think is not bad for a set of seats looking like recaro's if it's fake..I mean a friend of mine bout them tenzo? seats I think and those were like $700 so price wise for me on it if it was fake not too bad at least they look nice in the ride and I'm happy i guess...
