part out my 06 s2000, don't let the bank reposess it!!!!
So let me get this straight: You want someone to hand over $10k for a car that can't be registered, nor legally driven? What are you going to tell the bank, the car is gone, not sure where though?
You're a ******* moron.

just a thought on your current situation with the s2000...Dont mess with Insurance Companies, lenders, or OCATT (Orange County Auto Theft Task Force). You might want to get out of the payment, but in the end you will get fucked. They will hit you with 35k for the car and 10k for the attorney fees, not to mention if OCATT finds this thread they will hit you waith insurance fraud and you will have a felony and jail time. Once the bank has a judgement for 45k they will garnish your wages at 25% of your paycheck until it is completely paid back. If you have hit rock bottom your best bet is to either do an Voluntary Repo or Chapter 7 Bankrupcy. If you file BK7 it will cost you about $500, but you can return the car and they wiull pay off any of your credit cards that you have maxed out and you wont have to pay anything else on them ever. Trust me, what you are doing might sound like an easy way out, but you are not the first person who has thought of this idea, and THEY WILL WIN. Dont do it.
** i think i may have gone too far, maybe i'll just keep it, thanks for the advice rex o nater.

Yes, the car is registered in your name, but you are not the Lein Holder. In the end the Lien Holder is the one who has the final say. If you dont keep the car fully insured for the entire duration of the loan, if you are behind on payments, or registration, they can take the car. If you are unresponsive and their repo guys can not find the car, THEY will report it stolen. Thats when the task force gets involved, and the insurance company.
Just looking out for you. Good Luck tho.

i'll tell you what sucks, being upside down on a car and having to keep it even when you don't want to. OCJ is worse though, so is the california department of corrections. anyway, thread is done, i'm out. PPPPEEEEEAAAACCCCEEE
