Buying used-price question
I'm going tomorrow to look at an Accord that sounds pretty much exactly what I want. It's a 2003 EX-L Sedan, with a 4 cylinder engine and a manual transmission. The list from their website is below. The price they have listed is $16,199. KBB has the retail listed as $18,010. Trade-in value is $14,225(excellent condition), adn $13,385(good condition). What price should I be aiming for?

Kelly Blue Book uses the average ASKING price from dealers as their guideline.
KBB is all about raising dealer prices and profits.
Try Edmunds.com "TMV" true market value, for the reality of prices.

Thanks. I looked the car up on Edmunds, and they show dealer retail is $18,453, private party is $17,048, and trade-in is $15499. This is all for outstanding condition. If I lower it to clean condition, the price falls to $17,494 retail, $16,178 private party, and $14,674 trade-in. I'm thinking they've had it on the lot a while, and have it priced pretty well. Maybe nobody in the area wants the manual.

most people looking for an accord want automotic, granted 90 percent of all cars in america in automatic
check the service record, if they have a complete service record or the car is still in warranty then it's a good sign
