Default Crank pully / Crank pully bolt keeps coming off, any ideas..

Second time in a year this has happen, lucky our acura down here carries this in stock ( i have no clue why, its such a random *** part)
Was at a light about to just take off normal and When i start to move my battery light comes on..
Then i see my pully roll out, ohh roughly about 10 ft infront of my car..my belt shot probably close to 12 ft away from me..I was wondering if i'm doing something wrong, the way i tighten my **** up is with a strong *** allen wrech stuck in the flywheel to stop the motor from turning,it catches on to the tranny case and thats that, i put around 210ft of torque on this mother ****** and on top of that i have a impact system at my house which i did on top of that..last time this happened was roughly...i dunno 5 months ago?? ..i'm working with what i've have but i dont understand why my **** keeps coming off, again lucky i'm only 2 mins away from a acura dealer..keys are 2.80 a piece.

try using some loctite and use a torque wrench. Imapcts are not a good thing to use on the crank pulley bolt.

He said he put 210 lbft of torque on the bolt, so he must have a torque wrench already.

You said it as if he hadn't used a torque wrench already, even though he stated it in his first post. You dont have to make this a big deal.

I'm sorry you can't read.

I said to use a torque wrench and Loctite during reassembly. I never said he did or did not use a torque wrench previously.

IntegraType-R, also make sure the crank pulley doesn't have a sloppy fit on the crank. Sometime the center of the crank pulley will get damaged when they come off while the motor is running.

Why are impacts not a good thing to use on the crank pulley bolt?? That is the only way I could get mine off.

To the OP, are you sure your TQ wrench is within spec? It would suck to think you are putting 147 down, but in fact you are only at 100. The one I borrow is about 10lbs off.

And is 147 the correct amount?? I thought somewhere it was stated it was over 300. I could be very wrong

It can cause bearing/crank damage. A crank pulley wrench is the correct way along with liquid wrench and a big *** breaker bar.

No, to be honest my setup did have the original type-r crank pully on there, but this already happened once during a race, and when it came off it tore the pully up cause it hit the street at like..90-100mph..didn't hurt my car in anyway but this is a obd0-ls crank pully this pully fits pretty darn snug on to crank and its tight..also these new keys i got from acura look harder, feel harder and are alittle bit longer and in better conidition the ones i was using..i sure hope i solved my problem i ended up jacking a helms thingy from somewhere off the internet, and it told me 147ft of torque, losen then retighten to 150..i just did 150 both times...few of my friends said it was because i rev so high, but they failed to realize the type-r bottem end is ment to do that, its already balanced, and the pistons are lightweight just for that factor, i've reved to 9100 for 3 years, and to 9400 for over a year so far, and i dont believe this is a problem.. i seriously dont believe it has anything to do with my two step i have on here as well, although i dunno but as far as i know i'm just goin to beat it up, and see what happens..worst to worst i just buy another pully, i got 3 extra bolts and 4 extra keys..

I had one fly off as well however it was my fault for not torquing the bolt correctly in the first place. As far as the high revs or two step causing this issue, that's not the case. Just check the bolt in a few days
