Ok i have had a problem since i bought the engine.

at a constant speed the engine will seem to cut out, loose power unless i slam on the gas.

so i messed with the O2, did nothing
then i changed the IAC, that fixed my idle problem but it still looses power.

what next?


im thinking of replacing the fuel filter, spark plugs, cap and rotor. i need to know what spark plug/cap/rotor off of what engine i should buy for the D15B VTEC. I am also assuming that i just buy the fuel filter for my car since i never changed it.

 

i had a similar problem... my car would bog down then if i gave it gas it wouldn't be as bad...

you should try replacing the cap/rotor/spark plugs and wires...

when they get worn out then you dont get the spark it needs... replacing the fuel filter wouldn't be a bad idea either...

i think you can use cap/rotor off a D16z6 if i'm not mistaken... even though the distributor bolts up different than the D15B.

Its either all D-Series the same or is it all VTEC d-series are the same... << can somebody back me up on this?

 

Alright i changed the cap rotor plugs wires fuel filter and did an oil change.


the car runs 100% better, around town untill i get on the highway, the civic warms up and im doing a constant speed is when it will still loose power and i have to slam on the gas to get going again.

though it needed all that stuff, it didnt fix my problem.

 

Im now thinking injectors

i dont think they were ever changed.

which injectors should i go with.
