Panasonic cq-c9700u problems turning on
so its wired to factory plugs all
i get it to light up the source button blue but then a sec later it turns to a lighter blue then flickers slowly kinda like it doesnt have enought power!
is it beucase my alternator is going?not enought power?or is the deck dead?
i bought it 2nd hand thats why im stumped if its really broken or power problem

why dont you take the stereo out and plug it to a 12v source and see if it will work that way.. perhaps ur wiring is incorrect.
Can you still start the car, if so the alt. is not the problem, however power may still be the problem, a number of things can be wrong, including your connections, how were they done, was a harness adapter used?
You may not have good power and ground at the oem radio harness, so even if your connections are good you may have a problem "up stream".
Take john666's advice pull the unit and connect the red and yellow leads together, [12V+ acc. and constant] and connect to batt. pos.(+) and the black, [ground] to the batt. neg.(-), [assuming your batt. is fully charged, will start car] the turn on unit and see what happens, [no the other wires do not have to be connected, just make sure they can't "short" to each other or anything else.
If the HU lights up properly and displays radio will load, display and play a disc, problem is not in the HU, problem is in wiring, could be as simple as a defective fuse or a poor connection, [even a poor connection of the fuse into fuse holder]
