PR3-x (where x = 1, 2, 3, 4)

But could also be a B16 head.

Sorry, your right.

But d00d ^^^ is right. It can be PR3-1 thru PR3-4
Look for the green paint near the dizzy.

But a PR3 can also be a B16 head right? Are the type R's the only ones with green paint near the dizzy or is there another way to ID a REAL Type r casting?

B16 and the ITR head are from the exact same casting. Only difference is the porting of the head and the obvious cams, but as far as the casting... it's the same. Yes, the ITR's, JDM and USDM both have the green near the dizzy. IIRC it was Honda's way of marking the better casts for the ITR's.
