is engine heat killing my starter?
when i drive my car it gets to the normal operating temperature and when im driving the car harder it getts hotter (in the engine bay, not the temp gauge), everything is fine but im starting to think my starter is taking a **** due to heat soak.... ill run in a store after driving on the highway or spirted driving and go out to my car and it wont start for like an hour. wont even crank at all... fuel pump turns on... blah blah.. electrical is fine... but just wont crank for like an hour or so until after its cooler i assume... wtf is this all about? doesnt seem like a main relay thing cuz here its not hot outside anymore. comments?
not much work ,just intake header exhaust ported mani new dizzy and cap walbro pump plugs are hotter and brand new, new ngk wires... thing is, this just started happening this week. i just swapped this motor in july. its all pretty much new stuff.... except the starter and the alternator.. which is why i was wondering if it was the starter being heat soaked... i couldnt even touch it
