I think I know the tensioner bolt you're talking about being too long. My roommate had that on the H22 he is building up. I looked at a stck of washers about an inch thick on his motor and started laughing. I pulled out some bolt from a civic suspension and slapped that in there. It worked much better and didn't look retarded. In your case, it would give you an inch of clearance.

just grind down the bolt head, the bolt head is about 2" long...

Mine came right off with the gear puller. make sure you balance the spacer and make or buy the alternator relocation bracket
