In all honesty, the center caps do make the wheels look nice. When I was considering Rota's, I was also considering the Mugen center caps because of the simple shape and look, not because they are Mugen. If they were made by Kraft I'd still buy them if they looked nice.

I do not want to pass off the rotas as mugen. I simpily like the center cap better than the rota cap. I've also just thought off painting the rota cap flat black too. I've seen someone who has bought the rotas in the Philippines and they came with a center cap similar to the Mugen, granted it's not a Mugen but it looks better than having no center cap.
If you want Mugen caps, you will need to buy a set of genuine Mugen wheels. If you just stick the Mugen caps on your Rota knockoff-fakie wheels, everyone is going to laugh at your and call you riceboy.
Don't do it.

the MF center caps do not have any mugen emblem or stamp on them.
if one was lying in the street and somebody found it they probably wont know what kind of rim it is for, or what it is for that matter...

The C8 center caps are aluminum below the Rota logo. You can sand it down to the aluminum. That way you don't have to worry about any paint chips. You end up paying way less than Mugen .... isn't that why you bought Rota's in the first place? Here's mine:
What grade of sand paper did you use on your C8? I would have never thought of sanding it down. Thanks for the idea.

What color were the center caps originally on your C8's? I plan on ordering 16" C8's in silver but vendors now say the center caps are that carbon fiber finish vs the silver that I originally saw/wanted.
Does anyone know the diameter of the mugen center caps? Can you replace the rota wheel cap with a mugen one and will it fit? TIA

I have a name brand suspension but tires of a brand I had never heard of before I got them (Nankang). But you know what, it WORKS, and it works WELL. Nobody has said anything bad to me about getting those tires yet, but even if they did, I wouldn't care, because I know they are good tires... at least they have been so far.

But does anyone make a centercap that looks similar to the Mugen one? I don't think so.
