Default Rust on my radiator support welds

my girls car got a new core support installed by a local shop about 2-3 years ago. I was changing her oil the other day and noticed that the welds on her core support were rusting very badly. The question is should this be happening, or should i go back and try and get it redone. Please let me know what u think. Also sorry if this breaks the rules, figured this was the best place to post and the damn search function is not working at the moment.

yea its normal but it should have been covered to keep the rust from forming..... best thing to do at this point would be to just hit all the rust good with a wire brush and then hit it with some spray paint like a rustoleum black or somethin

I would go to the shop first and see if they will cover it. most collision and refinishing shops carry a warrantee and it coud be a very big deal that these werent done right in the first place.

If they wont it was worth a try, no point in doin it yourself if it can be done for free.

if it was 2-3 years ago now way anybody would cover anything like that maybe if it was about a month or so afterwards, just clean the rust off as good as you can and spray paint just over the rusted welds.
