Default HELP......................Brand new............

I love my Prelude and I haven't had to do anything in 215,000 miles.

Now when I start it, as soon as it comes down from the fast idle is stalls at every light until it gets hot. Then it idles rough. Any ideas.

It has new wires, plugs, cap, idle control valve, PCV valve...........AURGGGGG!!!

It just dawned on me that they replaced the cap because it had a large crack in the side of it. Would this indicate something is wrong with the distributor?

I did, and it still does it. Here's what it does again.

Starts fine........slight missing.
Stalls when it comes off the fast idle.
Stalls at lights until its hot.
Slow acceleration and poor idle.

I think it might be the distrubutor going bad.

Bad distributors can give bad idling, but before you purchase one of those, have you checked your spark plugs/wires. It sounds like some sort of ignition problem though, so it's either the cap, rotor, distributor, spark plug wires, or spark plugs, and it doesn't sound like it would be an ignition coil. When those go out, your car will stall when it gets hot, yours does the opposite. I hope this helps.

Yeah, the local Honda/Acura shop put new wires, cap, and plugs, so I think it must be the distributor at this point.
