somebody please tell me whats this controls...p28 obd1 sohc
(p28-a02 chipped ecu)
I just got a chipped ecu ......dont know which program exactly but i do no it applys to my car. I plugged it in and it was fine. As soon as i started the car smoke came out of the ecu. i immediatly turned off the car. When I opened up the ecu noticed a definate burnt smell and one small part in the ecu melted. Plugged the ecu in again without cover and went for test drive. Car pulled very nice......Now im stuck wondering why did it do this and what does that small part control that melted.....Does anybody have something that would discribe the internal parts of the ecu???????????The ecu is a p28-a02....keep scrolling down

iat, which means you switched 2 plugs on the back of the intake mani
i had that problem, if your ecu still works (might be dead) you wont be missing anything important so still use it, but switch the two plugs back.
also you will probably throw code 10 which is iat, gotta deal with it

i did that its no big deal mine didnt throw any codes it would some time but i would just trun the car off an turn it back on an it would go away an the two plugs are intake air temp an fuel purg
when you had a check engine light on it did vtec engage...will vtec ever engage when check engine light on....check connectors and those two you mentioned were mixed up as soon as i switched them got check engine light....what if i just switch them back?
