Taking the Seats out
Really though if youve never worked on a car thats OK, but go ahead and buy yourself a haynes manual for your car and that will give you the guidelines for everything for $15. If you find out you enjoy working on it go ahead and buy the factory helms service manual which is very, very detailed. If you need to ask this question you should really get the haynes and read up, it will only help you and it only cost fifteen bucks.
rear seats arnt that hard. fold the driver side seat down, pull back the velcro, and use (i believe) an 11mm socket wrench and un bolt llike 3 bolts and the seat belt. next fold down the other side and do the same. if you start to do it you can really figure out how to do it yourself. I had no idea how to do it at first, and i just started on it and theres really only one way to do it. its fairly easy.
Yea I gotta grab a helms from work and figure it out as well, back seats weigh quite a bit, and then if i take em out I dont have to drive bastards around anymore lol. I still havent been able to figure out if the rear and rear side curtain airbags and sensors will freak out if the back seat and belts are missing.

I don't think Honda ever used an 11mm bolt. The seats are 12mm.

ITS ACTUALLY ONE 10 MM BOLT JUST TO THE SIDE OF THE MIDDLE SEAT BELT BUCKLE IN BETWEEN THE CUSHION AND THE SEAT BACK. REMOVE THAT AND PULL UP THE LOWER CUSHION FROM THE FRONT. ONCE YOU GOT THAT OUT THERE ARE TWO MORE 10MM BOLTS ON EACH SIDE CUSHION REMOVE THOSE THEN SLIDE THEM UP AND OUT, THEN YOU CAN SEE EXACTLY HOW THE SEAT BACKS COME OUT. GOOD LUCK.

Actually none of that stuff is really necessary--and the techs don't even do most of what you guys are saying at the Honda dealership.
The rear seat takes all of about 2 minutes to remove. There is a 10mm bolt that you will take off just to the left of the middle "cushion". You then simply pull up the seat in the front to release the hooks, which are roughly in the middle of each side seat at the foremost part of the seat.
Taking off the negative battery lead is only necessary when you are working around the SRS airbag systems or will be removing any electrical connectors--which you will not be if you're just removing the rear seat.
The seat backs are just as easy....as someone already stated--fold em down, remove the 3 bolts for the smaller seat back first, take it out. Then remove the bolt for the bracket that's in the middle, and the bolts that are on the side. Then you slide the seat back from the bushing and voila...you're done. No connectors or SRS mess involved at all.
